Energy Management Solutions for Industrial Manufacturing.Reports To: Service Delivery Line Lead.Summary.We are looking for an experienced and driven Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Limerick. This hybrid role (two days in the office, three days from home) offers the opportunity to lead innovative energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects across Ireland's most energy-intensive industries. You will take full ownership of the mechanical design process — from initial concept and detailed design through to implementation and project completion — delivering high-quality, technically sound, and sustainable engineering solutions.Responsibilities· Lead mechanical design projects end-to-end, from concept to completion.· Design and deliver energy-efficient systems including HVAC, steam, compressed air, heat recovery, and process cooling.· Develop design packages, technical drawings, and specifications that meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.· Engage with clients to define project scopes and present technical solutions clearly and confidently.· Oversee contractors and installations to ensure design intent and quality are maintained.· Support and mentor junior engineers, promoting best practice and continuous improvement.· Identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency within mechanical systems.· Manage multiple projects effectively, ensuring deadlines, budgets, and quality standards are met.Requirements· Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.· 7+ years' experience in mechanical or energy engineering, ideally within industrial or utilities sectors.· Proven ability to carry mechanical designs through the full project lifecycle — from concept to commissioning.· Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer principles.· Experience with industrial utilities such as boilers, chillers, heat exchangers, and air handling systems.· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software; energy modelling experience is an advantage.· Excellent communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.· Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) is desirable.· Full, clean driving licence and flexibility to travel to client sites as required.
