Overview
Celestica Galway (Ireland) is seeking a Senior Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Process to design, develop, deploy and optimize manufacturing processes for high-speed automated production lines.
The role supports the production of world-class medical devices in a dynamic environment and reports to the Engineering Manager.
Responsibilities
Understand and implement the customer's technical roadmap and related process development projects.
Lead and implement the development and release of the full manufacturing process for new customer products.
Gather and convey customer technical requirements to the team and management.
Develop and implement costed, optimized feedback using Design for Manufacturability (DFX) tools to reduce manufacturing cost and improve quality and reliability.
Plan and lead assessment of process capability using design of experiments (DOE).
Design process controls and data collection strategies; analyze data to report yield, reliability and root-cause investigation outcomes.

Project Management: lead complex, multi-line engineering projects; manage technical, financial and people aspects; create and execute project/change management plans within time and budget; mitigate barriers.

Technical Competencies
NPI-PCBA: ESD, component prep, laser marking, solder paste deposition, SMT assembly, reflow, tooling design, PTH soldering, manual assembly, depanelization, wire harnesses, data analytics and related manufacturing processes.
DFX: ESD controls, component prep, programming, laser marking, stencil design, soldering, robot/FMC handling, cleaning, coating, packaging, chassis assembly, sheet metal, machining, welding, and related inspections.
FA LAB: SIR testing, Solder Joint Reliability, X-ray, vibration, thermal analysis and related lab capabilities.
OPTICAL & XRAY INSPECTION: AOI/AXI, IPC-610, quality data, DFM/DFX for manufacturing and assembly, test strategy creation.
MECHANICAL & SYSTEMS ASSEMBLY; MICROELECTRONICS: broad knowledge areas including assembly, harnessing, testing, and related processes as listed in the original description.

What do we expect from you?
Excellent project and time management skills; strong communication, written and verbal.
Experience creating CAPA, FMEA, SOPs, Control Plans and performing validation (FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ).
Ability to communicate manufacturing plans, proposals and results at management levels; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Interpersonal skills and data analytical capabilities; knowledge of medical device industry and regulatory requirements (21 CFR, ISO 13485) is advantageous, especially in Change Control and Validation.
What are we looking for?
Engineering degree with 4+ years of relevant experience.
Relevant Medical Device and/or Automation experience preferred; ISO13485 manufacturing environment desirable.
Project management experience with NPI; ability to lead change, collaborate and drive accountability.
Willingness to travel short-term during early project phases.
Strong customer management skills and knowledge of customer and regulatory requirements.
Experience coaching and mentoring junior engineers.
