About Us

Moy Solar is a family-owned solar PV installation company based in Ballina, Co. Mayo. We provide reliable, high-quality solar PV systems to homes, businesses, and farms across the West and North West of Ireland. We pride ourselves on our West of Ireland roots and our ties to the local community.

We use premium equipment, deliver outstanding craftsmanship, and stand over every installation we complete. As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone to help us manage the day-to-day administration and finances of the business.

The Role

We're looking for an Office Administrator / Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis (approximately 24 hours per week, or 3 days). This is a varied role that combines general office administration with bookkeeping and financial management responsibilities.

You'll be working closely with our team to keep the business running smoothly, from managing accounts and invoices to handling SEAI grant paperwork and general admin tasks.

Location

This role is remote to begin with, with a strong likelihood of transitioning to office-based work in Ballina late 2026 onwards as we expand. We're looking for someone who is comfortable working remotely now but is happy to work from our Ballina office in the future.

What You'll Be Doing

Financial & Bookkeeping:

* Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Processing invoices, payments, and receipts
* Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records
* Preparing financial reports including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
* VAT preparation and liaising with our accountant
* Payroll administration support

Administration:

* General office administration and correspondence
* Managing SEAI grant paperwork and submissions
* Scheduling and coordination support for installation teams
* Maintaining customer records and documentation
* Supporting the team with day-to-day tasks as needed

What We're Looking For

Requirements:

* Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounts administration
* Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
* Ability to prepare and understand financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow)
* Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar)
* Strong Microsoft Office / Google Workspace skills, particularly Excel or Sheets
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and manage your own workload remotely
* Comfortable using modern software tools and open to learning new systems
* Based within commuting distance of Ballina, Co. Mayo (for future office-based work)

Nice to Have:

* Experience in construction, trades, or renewable energy sectors
* Familiarity with SEAI grant processes
* Accounting technician qualification (IATI, AAT, or similar)
* Experience with VAT returns and Irish Revenue requirements
