**Our Purpose** At our Engineering Department in Medtronic Athlone, we focus on production of Medical Devices in our Controlled Manufacturing Environment. Senior Manufacturing Engineers are directly involved in new product introductions, product transfers and maintaining/continuously improving existing product lines by ensuring time-efficient and cost-effective processes while maintaining overall product quality and compliance.In this exciting role as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will:Work with the site on validation strategy and execution and may be involved in designing and planning layout for such activities as plastics processing, assembly and equipment implementation while adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Is an expert in understanding process improvement techniques such as DFMA, Kaizen, DMAIC, Value Stream Mapping, Lean manufacturing, 6-sigma and has highly developed project management skills. **Key Skills & Experience** years of relevant experience, or a minimum of 2 years relevant experience or PhD with 0 years relevant experience. Manufacturing engineering experience in a medical device related industry, with a demonstrated track record of developing, maintaining and improving manufacturing processes.Knowledge of polymer processing, raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Deep knowledge of Injection Moulding is preferable.Ability to prepare written procedures, proposals, and reports. Experience in Solid Works/AutoCAD, MS Office, MS Project desirable.Project Management experience and qualification desirable. Experience creating/processing engineering changes in Agile preferred.
