Overview
A Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is responsible for managing the quality aspects of materials and services provided by external suppliers.
SQEs work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and engineering, to ensure that the components and materials sourced meet the company's quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Lead quality activities related to contract manufacturers and suppliers to ensure compliance is maintained.
Co-ordinate activities related to supplier qualification, routine performance reviews and supplier audits.
Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers on quality related matters.
Collaborate with suppliers to address and resolve quality issues through development of appropriate corrective action places where appropriate.
Maintain detailed documentation and records of supplier performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs).
Act as primary point of contact for notification of supplier changes, and co-ordinate the associated change assessments by working closely with cross functional engineering colleagues.
Support in-house manufacturing to ensure high quality products are delivered.
Apply a risk-based approach to problem solving.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering or Science discipline.
2+ years' quality or manufacturing experience in the medical device industry.
