J.D. Scanlon & Co LLP is seeking an experienced and motivated Litigation Solicitor to join their expanding team in Tullamore, County Offaly. About the role:
The role is based in Tullamore, Co. Offaly, with travel to Dublin and other areas for court as required. It is a full-time, permanent position (5 days a week), and the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in litigation.
Key responsibilities:
* Manage a diverse caseload of litigation matters, including High Court, Circuit Court, and District Court applications.
* Represent large institutional clients such as the HSE, major hospitals, Section 39 entities, nursing homes, and the Child and Family Agency.
* Advise on mental health and capacity law, including urgent and routine applications to the High Court and Circuit Courts.
* Advise on childcare law and make applications in Midland District Courts for same.
* Handle Circuit Court applications for decision-making capacity.
* Act for private individuals in a broad range of litigation matters.
* Liaise with clients, counsel, and third parties, ensuring the highest standards of client care.
Key requirements:
* At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience in litigation is preferred.
* Experience in child care law is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with decision-making capacity applications in the Circuit Court is an advantage.
* Strong knowledge of mental health and capacity law is beneficial.
* Proficiency with Practice Evolve or similar document/case management systems.
* Excellent communication, organisational, and client care skills.
* Willingness to travel for court appearances as required.
