Accounts Payable Manager
Location: Oranmore, Co. Galway (On-site)Reporting To: Finance ManagerContract Duration: 12 MonthsSalary Range: €45,000 - €55,000 per annum depending on experience
Role Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly organised Accounts Payable Manager to lead and oversee the accounts payable function within a busy finance environment. The successful candidate will supervise the accounts payable team and ensure the timely, accurate and compliant processing of financial transactions while maintaining strong governance and internal controls.
This role is based fully on-site in Oranmore, Co. Galway
Key Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the accounts payable team to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all accounts payable activities
Take full responsibility for the end-to-end accounts payable process including:
Invoice processing
Approval workflows
Payment runs and approvals
Associated reconciliations
Review and approve weekly travel and subsistence claims in line with public sector regulations and internal policies
Oversee supplier management processes including:
Supplier setup
Bank detail changes
Supplier ledger maintenance and approvals
Supplier statement reconciliations
Ensure strong internal controls, compliance, governance and audit readiness across all finance activities
Provide oversight and approval of revenue returns and reconciliation of associated control accounts
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for review and approval
Assist with preparation and support of annual financial statements
Provide support for ad-hoc finance activities including payroll processing when required
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Essential Requirements
Minimum of 3 years' experience working within a high-volume accounts payable environment, ideally with supervisory or team management responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of:
Public sector finance regulations
Prompt payment requirements
Professional Services Withholding Tax (PSWT)
Relevant Contracts Tax (RCT)
Travel and subsistence regulations
Strong IT skills including proficiency in:
Microsoft Office
MS Teams
MS SharePoint
Proven experience using ERP systems within a finance environment
Relevant third-level qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Requirements
Previous public sector experience
Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics Navision, Business Central or similar ERP systems
Experience in payroll processing or supervision of payroll activities.
