Senior Software Developer (Ruby on Rails)
Location
Dublin, Ireland, with a healthy balance between remote work and time on-site with the team. 1 day a week onsite in Dublin City Centre. Travel to the office is required at least one day per week.

A growing and successful SaaS startup (in business since 2018) helping businesses gain real-time visibility and control over their costs. They focus on solving real customer problems with simple, well-built software. Product is used by hundreds of customers across the globe.
They are still small enough that every developer has real influence, but established enough that the product is live and generating good revenue. They are evolving, with an ambitious roadmap for 2026.
The Role
We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer who enjoys building, leading, and taking ownership. You’ll be a hands-on contributor while also helping shape how the engineering team works as the team further grows.
You’ll report directly to the CTO (Founder) and work very closely with the Product Owner (also a Founder), with real input into product direction, technical decisions, and delivery.
This role is ideal for someone who has "been there before" and wants to apply that experience in a very ambitious startup environment.
What You’ll Do
Build, evolve, and maintain core parts of the platform using Ruby on Rails
Take responsibility for technical quality, performance, and scalability
Help lead and manage a RoR team, mentoring developers and setting standards
Review code and promote pragmatic best practices (clean code, testing, security)
Work closely with the founders to turn product ideas into shipped features
Balance speed and quality in an Agile environment
Contribute to shaping engineering processes as the company scales
What We’re Looking For
10+ years overall software development experience
7+ years of hands-on Ruby on Rails experience
Strong experience building and running production systems
Proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor developers
The flexibility needed in a startup environment
Clear communicator who can work directly with founders and non-technical stakeholders
Strong problem-solving mindset and practical engineering judgement
Nice to Have (Not Required)
Experience with React Native (Mobile Development)
Use of AI to develop Value Add product features
