Mechanical Quantity Surveyor Role
Job Summary:
A Mechanical Quantity Surveyor with 3+ years of experience in the engineering consultancy or mechanical contracting industry is sought for a permanent position in Dublin. The role involves managing all commercial aspects of assigned construction projects, including setting initial cost budgets, compiling and closing out final accounts, and ensuring projects are completed within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyse tender Bills of Quantities to set construction budgets for assigned projects.
Monthly cost tracking against budgets and reporting on same.
Liaise with internal/external stakeholders on commercial aspects of projects.
Preparing, submitting, and achieving certification on Monthly Payment Claim Notices.
Compile costs and achieve agreement of contract adjustments throughout the project, ensuring high standards of recording of same.
Maintenance of accurate records, ensuring all project commercial registers are developed and continuously kept up to date.
Certification of subcontractors and maintaining accurate control accounts for each.
Manage contractual aspects of projects; review and manage contracts, collateral warranties, bonds, etc.
Monthly monitoring of commercial performance & forecasts to completion, cash flow projections, and all commercial aspects of assigned projects.
Report monthly on the commercial performance of projects, in tandem with the project Contracts Manager, to directors at monthly progress report meetings.
Ensuring QS departmental reports, claims, etc. are issued both internally and externally to the required deadlines.
IDentify and assess potential risks related to commercial aspects of the project.
Requirements:
Qualification in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
3+ years' experience in a quantity surveying role with a mechanical contractor.
Strong understanding of mechanical installations.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
Strong negotiation and communication skills, with a specific focus on M&E components.
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Work well as part of a team.
Strong organisational skills and methodical record keeping.
Strong IT Skills, Microsoft Office Suite a requisite.
