Role Summary:
Galway Traveller Movement is seeking a highly skilled finance professional to oversee the overall financial and administrative functions of our organization.
The successful applicant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with contractual and legislative requirements, as well as providing administrative support on an as-needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:
* Record financial transactions in computerized accounting systems
* Produce financial forecasts and budget reports
* Manage payroll, invoices, expenses, and VAT
* Resolve payment questions for external contractors
* Conduct financial audits and collaborate with auditors to prepare annual returns
* Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial, and other data
* Participate in internal and external meetings on finance-related matters
* Work with and monitor the administration/finance team on finance matters
* Ensure compliance with charitable regulations and governance issues
* Collaborate with the Board of Directors and joint coordinators on the financial health of the organization
* Prepare and present management accounts at monthly directors' meetings

Requirements:
1. Three years' experience in preparing and managing accounts
2. Previous experience in the non-profit sector or social enterprise (desired but not essential)
3. Relevant third-level qualification in accounting or finance-related discipline
4. Excellent knowledge of financial accounting issues and good accounting practices
5. Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and computerized accounting packages
6. Strong administrative skills
7. Good attention to detail and accuracy of work
8. Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills
9. Ability to prioritize tasks/objectives and work independently
10. Self-directed
11. Strong motivation and organizational skills, with ability to multitask
12. Full clean driving license and access to personal vehicle
13. Understanding of corporate responsibilities
14. Positive and enthusiastic attitude to work, with ability to work well in a team
15. Commitment to working from an anti-racist and equality perspective
16. Understanding of the issues and policies impacting the Traveller community
17. Respect for Traveller culture and way of life
18. Flexibility in approach to work, including out-of-hours working if required
