Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the Executive Head Chef in delivering a high standard of food and service, while contributing to the ongoing success of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist the Head Chef with all aspects of kitchen management, including maintaining gross profit margins and controlling wage costs.
* Oversee daily food ordering and ensure stock rotation, prepare weekly staff rosters efficiently.
* Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food preparation and hygiene.
* Maintain excellent standards in food quality, presentation, and service during all shifts.
* Ensure all dishes meet quality and presentation standards before leaving the kitchen.
* Support in menu planning and supplier selection, promote a positive, team-oriented environment.
* Enforce and follow all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
* Provide excellent customer service and handle any food-related queries or complaints professionally.
* Assist with cross-department collaboration when necessary.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Proven experience in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role within a busy kitchen.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
* Excellent understanding of food safety and HACCP requirements.
* Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
* High standards of personal hygiene and professionalism.
