Abbott Diabetes Care has opened a new site, in Kilkenny, that is at the forefront of Diabetes care with the latest technology, to manufacture FreeStyle blood glucose test strips and FreeStyle Sensors for use in diabetes management. Among Abbott Diabetes Care leading brands are the FreeStyle Precision, FreeStyle Lite and FreeStyle Libre systems.

As a Senior Manufacturing Support Engineer, you will apply highly developed specialist knowledge and skills in reliability engineering, production support, identification and elimination of equipment risk. In addition, you will take ownership of the successful implementation of reliability projects and initiatives.
What You'll Do
* Provides global reliability technical leadership.
* Apply technical knowledge to proactively eliminate risks and drive improved consistency of performance within production equipment and processes.
* Utilize TPM technical SME's to develop effective reliability initiatives.
* Lead the implementation of Reliability Initiatives at a site level to drive standardization across the process footprint.
* Coach more junior Engineers through technical and process challenges.
* Communicates technical updates effectively to all levels of the business.
* Defines, develops, and refines an asset maintenance plan that includes:
o Value-added, defined, and standardised preventive maintenance tasks
o Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems
* Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability-related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact operations.
* Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations
Experience You'll Bring
* Bachelors Degree Preferably in engineering or other scientific field.
* Minimum 5 years in electronic and/or medical/biotech industries.
* 5-10 plus years of manufacturing experience with companies engaged in the manufacture of high quality, FDA regulated products.
* Knowledge of regulations and standards of medical devices.
* Proven leadership skills, results oriented, highly collaborative, team player, and self starter who can operate in a fast pace environment.
* Experience in state-of-the-art, multi-step, high volume, process control manufacturing and process development.
* Experience with ISO 9001/CE Mark requirements.
* Manufacturing management experience in manufacturing planning, documented systems, GMP, and quali
