ATG are seeking an experienced and motivated Environmental Planner to join a multidisciplinary team in Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering environmental planning projects, with a focus on Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), planning applications, and related environmental reports.
You will collaborate closely with planners, ecologists, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality outcomes aligned with environmental regulations and planning policy.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and support the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessment Reports (EIARs) and associated planning documentation.
* Manage the environmental planning aspects of infrastructure, renewable energy, and development projects.
* Provide strategic advice on planning and environmental policy, regulatory compliance, and permitting.
* Coordinate with internal specialists and external consultants across disciplines.
* Undertake site visits, surveys, and environmental risk assessments as required.
* Engage with local authorities, statutory bodies, and community stakeholders.
* Support business development, including proposal writing and client relationship management.
* Monitor legislative and policy developments relevant to environmental planning in Ireland.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
* Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Town Planning, or a related discipline.
* 3+ years’ professional experience in an environmental planning role (consultancy or public sector).
* Strong understanding of Irish and EU planning and environmental legislation, including the Planning and Development Act and EIA Directive.
* Demonstrated experience in preparing EIARs and planning applications.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Proficiency in MS Office; experience with GIS or environmental modelling tools is an advantage.
* Chartered status with IPI, RTPI, or a relevant professional body (or working towards).
* Experience with Appropriate Assessment (AA) and Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA).
* Knowledge of climate action planning or circular economy principles.
