Business Finance Analyst - SME
Toclosely partner with the Business SME team (and wider Business teams from time to time), to support & challenge them in meeting their strategic and financial targets.
Evaluate all commercial proposals from the SME team to make sure they are in line with Governance and maximize the margin return for the business.
Work closely with the rest of Commercial Finance and Financial Reporting teams to ensure all transactions are recorded and monthly P&L is managed and closed in a timely fashion. Work with the Business to prepare robust budgets and reforecasts.
What else it involves:
Provide financial support by partnering with the Business Sales SME team
Evaluate customer proposals on re-sign and new acquisitions using and developing tools & reports to achieve most profitable retention and acquisition results
Review and analyse Contracts with Account managers and the Legal team where necessary to correctly account for obligations.
Manage and review performance of SME P&L, complete monthly reporting, providing insight and analysis to both the Finance and the Business teams on the key drivers and risks & opportunities
Engage and partner with the Business teams on new initiatives & commercial negotiations.
Engage with the SME team to progress cost & revenue initiatives with a strong focus on margin & cost control
Liaise closely with other Commercial Finance/Financial Control teams to ensure that the accruals/deferrals process is effective and up to date, in line with accounting policies & rules
To carry out key tasks to enable accurate and timely reporting of revenue to the agreed frequency
Perform deep dive analysis on revenue to identify key drivers of positive and negative trends.
Support the delivery of robust budgets, forecasts and business plans for the SME area and assist with the overall Business submissions.
Identify & Implement the required systems and Process Automation, which will increase the productivity of Financial management teams
Development of performance metrics to measure the output and effectiveness of the Sales teams.
Build strong relationships with your key business partners in Business and within the wider organisation. Lead weekly drop in clinics to review proposals with sales agents.
Provide training on all Financial aspects as may be required for new SME Account Managers as well as refresher courses
From time to time assist on other commercial work of the Commercial Finance Business team
Skills and Experience
Min 3 to 5 years post qualification experience or related business experience
Strong excel and system skills including. Knowledge of Hyperion an advantage.
Excellent Analytical Skills with strong planning and organising skills
Excellent commercial awareness & financial judgement on commercial decisions
Previous Telecommunications or MNC Experience an advantage
Strong Negotiation and influencing skills
Passionate about Excellent Customer Experience
Excellent Leadership, Communication and Interpersonal skills
Results driven with a proven track record of operating in a dynamic & demanding environment
Creative Thinking – looks for solutions
Self-starter and comfortable taking ownership and driving projects
