About the Role
The Crushing and Screening Fitter plays a crucial part in maintaining, repairing, and servicing crushing and screening equipment used in construction, mining, and quarry operations.
* Responsibilities:
o Maintenance & Repair: Perform routine and preventative maintenance on crushing and screening machinery.
o Repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems of crushers, screens, conveyors, and related equipment.
o Troubleshoot and diagnose faults on crushing and screening plant equipment.
o Installation & Commissioning: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new crushing and screening equipment.
o Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
o Equipment Inspection & Reporting: Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify signs of wear, damage, or potential failures.
o Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving: Respond to breakdowns and repair equipment on-site or in the workshop.
o Customer Interaction: Provide technical support to customers when required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of crushing and screening machinery.
* Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
* Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
* Proficient in using diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and hand tools.
* Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
* Physical Requirements: Ability to work in challenging environments (e.g., dusty, noisy, or outdoor conditions).
* Personal Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Familiarity with specific brands or types of crushing and screening equipment is desirable. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is also beneficial.
