Help shape how global platforms respond to regulation, risk, and freedom of expression.
Our client is a global technology company operating at the centre of online expression, regulation, and public debate. As regulatory expectations grow worldwide, they're looking for an experienced
Public Policy Manager
to help steer content-related compliance efforts with clarity, credibility, and calm under pressure.
This is a role for someone who thrives in complexity—balancing legal obligations, human rights considerations, and product realities, while advising senior leaders and coordinating across large, fast-moving teams.
What you'll do
You'll sit at the intersection of policy, regulation, and content governance, with two core focus areas:
1. Regulatory Compliance & Policy Responses
* Coordinate cross-functional efforts to meet regulatory obligations related to online content
* Draft and review responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) on content policies and compliance strategies
* Support audits, risk assessments, and regulatory transparency reporting
* Translate complex policy positions into clear, defensible written submissions
2. Escalations & On-Call Policy Support
* Act as a key escalation point for regulatory and freedom-of-expression issues
* Coordinate rapid responses during regulatory escalations or emerging crises
* Participate in an on-call rotation (within timezone), with occasional irregular hours or weekend work
* Provide pragmatic, risk-aware policy advice to leadership under time pressure
Across both areas, you'll build strong working relationships with teams spanning legal, compliance, public policy, human rights, communications, and trust & safety—bringing people together to land thoughtful, compliant decisions.
What we're looking for
Minimum requirements
* 6+ years' experience in tech policy, law, integrity compliance, human rights, government, or risk management—ideally with a focus on platforms and technology
* Hands-on experience with internet or social media content issues
* Strong familiarity with platform content policies and standards
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven analytical, problem-solving, and project management capability
* Experience working cross-functionally and building consensus across diverse stakeholders
* Solid understanding of large-scale digital products and the principles behind them
Nice to have
* Stakeholder management across complex organisations
* Experience working in fast-paced, high-visibility policy environments
