Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Maintenance technicians are responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure the optimal functioning of machinery and equipment in a food processing or manufacturing environment.
The key responsibilities of a maintenance technician include:
* Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on all plant equipment and machinery
* Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical faults to minimize downtime
* Working closely with production teams to ensure machinery operates at optimum performance
* Assisting in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
* Participating in continuous improvement initiatives and safety reviews
* Adhering to health & safety procedures and regulations at all times
* Responding promptly to breakdowns
* Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance records
Requirements:
* A trades qualification: Relevant mechanical or electrical qualification required
* Additional mechanical or engineering certifications are a plus
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar maintenance role
* Strong mechanical knowledge – ability to service and repair a wide range of machinery
* Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong communication and organisational skills
