Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for a full-time, fixed term Project Manager (Research Assistant) position within the Seed Pop outreach project funded by the Research Ireland Discover programme in the School of Biological and Chemical Science (School of Biological and Chemical Sciences) and the Ryan Institute (Ryan Institute) at the University of Galway, Ireland.
This position is funded by Research Ireland and is available from 01/04/2026 to contract end date of 31/12/ months).
Seed Pop is a science outreach initiative funded by the Research Ireland Discover programme designed to engage senior primary school students (5th–6th classes) with key sustainable challenges such as climate change and food security.
Through a hands-on classroom kit and inquiry-based experiments, the project explores seed germination, environmental stress, and sustainable agriculture — aligning with the Irish primary SESE curriculum and the UN SDGs.
Salary Research Assistant salary scale €33,291 - €43,372 per annum, (subject to the project's funding limitations), and pro rata for shorter and/or part-time contracts.
Garda vetting is a requirement for this post (as appropriate to Child Protection Policy).
