The current vacancy available is specified purpose and whole-time in University Hospital Limerick.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for Clinical Nurse Specialist – Dementia, HSE Mid West Acute Services from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must, on the latest date for receipt of completed application forms for the post:
* Have statutory registration, professional qualifications, and relevant experience.
* Eligible applicants will be those who, on the closing date for the competition:
* Are registered nurses on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland) or are eligible for registration.
And
* Be registered in the General division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann) Register for which the application is being made or be entitled to be so registered.
Or
* In exceptional circumstances, be registered in another Division of the register of Nurses and Midwives, assessed on a case-by-case basis.
And
* Have a minimum of 1 year's post-registration full-time experience or an equivalent in the relevant division.
And
* Have completed a post-registration program of study, verified by the education provider, achieving a QQI Level 9 or higher award relevant to the specialist area of care (equivalent to 60 ECTS or above), in line with the National Council for Nursing and Midwifery 4th ed (2008) standards.
Alternatively, provide evidence of ECTS credits equivalent to Level 9 or higher relevant to the specialist area of care.
And
* Be required to demonstrate continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the specialist area.
And
* Have the ability to practice safely and effectively within their scope of practice.
Note: For nurses/midwives with a Level 8 qualification in the specialist area, this qualification will be recognized until September 2026.
And
* Possess the requisite knowledge, skills, and capacity for the proper discharge of duties.
And
* Maintain live annual registration with the NMBI and confirm registration annually with the HSE via the PSAC.
Additional requirements include good character, health, and suitability for the role, with ongoing registration maintained.
