Responsibilities
Lead multiple engineering teams in the design, implementation, and ownership of high‑ and low‑level system components to make Aurora highly available, scalable, reliable, and fast.
Hire, build, and mentor a high‑performing team of software engineers and harmonize operational responsibilities with innovation.
Translate high‑level technical requirements into executable project plans and deliverables.
Collaborate with product and program management teams to define and develop multi‑tier web services.
Provide technical guidance on distributed systems, query optimization, concurrency, database internals, caching, and performance engineering.

Basic Qualifications
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and operations.
Experience managing engineering teams.
Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
Several years of hands‑on experience leading the definition and development of multi‑tier web services.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements and describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of software engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
