This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment in the west end common corridor of our facilityPrimary Responsibilities Include:Sweeping and mopping/scrubbing floorsWiping down tables, chairs, and other high-touch surfacesVacuuming carpet runners and entry matsExtracting and deep-cleaning carpeted areas as neededWashing interior windows and glass doorsEmptying garbage and recycling receptaclesCleaning and disinfecting door handles and common area fixturesMonitoring the garbage collection site and surrounding grounds for loose trash and natural debrisSweeping and maintaining the public access area in front of the four adjacent businessesQualifications:Ability to work independently and manage time effectivelyPhysical ability to lift, bend, and complete cleaning tasksPrior custodial or cleaning experience preferred but not requiredQualifications:Must pass a background checkMust be at least 18 year of agePhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standingMust be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a timeSalary:$ $23.25 based on experienceFLSA Status: Non-exemptHiawatha Valley Education District (HVED) provides special education services to 12 School Districts and 3 Charter Schools within five counties of southeast Minnesota: Fillmore, Houston, Olmsted, Wabasha, and Winona. HVED also has a Setting IV Behavior Programs that provides programming for students in grades K-12 with challenging behaviors currently receiving special education services. The Setting IV Behavior Program is located in Kellogg (SAIL). In addition, HVED provides programming for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (SPECTRUM). Our SPECTRUM program is located in Hokah.
