Job Summary
We are currently seeking a reliable and hardworking Delivery Operative to join our Carrigtwohill team. In this role, you will assist the driver with deliveries of coal, firewood, and gas to customers, ensuring orders are delivered safely and efficiently. From time to time, you may also be required to drive a small 3.5 tonne transit van to complete local deliveries. This is a physical, hands on role that requires excellent customer service and the ability to handle heavy loads.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist driver with loading and unloading deliveries of coal, firewood, and gas
* Safely deliver products to residential and commercial customers
* Lift and handle bags of coal (up to 40kg), firewood, and gas cylinders
* Ensure deliveries are accurate, secure, and completed on schedule
* Provide friendly, professional customer service during deliveries
* Carry out manual handling duties in line with safety guidelines
* Drive a 3.5T transit van for deliveries when required (occasional cover)
* Report any stock discrepancies, safety issues, or vehicle concerns to management
Skills, Qualifications & Attributes
Essential:
* Full, clean driving licence
* Physically fit and able to lift up to 40kg
* Previous manual handling experience
* Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability
* Good communication and customer service skills
Desirable:
* Forklift licence (an advantage but not required)
* Experience in warehouse, delivery, or logistics roles
