Job Description

Turner & Townsend is engaged to support our clients with many complex projects, responsible for all aspects of cost management and project delivery. We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager to act as the day-to-day interface with our clients, driving projects to achieve excellent outcomes.

Key Elements:

1. Provide estimate and cost planning, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.
2. Act as the key point of contact to the client, overcoming delivery and commercial issues, while preparing formal and ad hoc reports focusing on time, cost, and quality targets.
3. Estimate at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
4. Manage pre and post-contract duties, including preparation of cost estimates, procurement, tendering, contract administration, variations, and final accounts.
5. Assist on feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
6. Perform all aspects of procurement, including managing pre-qualification, producing bid lists, bid analysis, bid reports, and compiling contractual documents.
7. Participate in post-contract cost variances and change control processes, referring major changes to line managers.
8. Manage cost checks and valuations on larger projects, ensuring timely and accurate processes.
9. Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present to clients.
10. Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
11. Develop good relationships with clients and stakeholders internally and externally.
12. Provide leadership to the cost management team when necessary, ensuring delivery on all accountabilities.
13. Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report to line managers, utilizing marketing databases.
14. Identify improvements for cost management procedures, templates, and products, and refer ideas to line managers.
15. Lead evaluation of project time, cost, and quality targets, applying governance controls for successful delivery.

Qualifications:

* A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management or quantity surveying services across the full construction project lifecycle.
* Experience in MEP construction, industrial, pharma, manufacturing, or advanced manufacturing sectors.
* A degree in Quantity Surveying or a relevant field.
* Experience leading cost management on medium or large-sized construction projects of medium to high complexity.
* Experience advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
* Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, including procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
* Excellent presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills; ability to multi-task and work well in a team.
