 
        
        Morgan McKinley is delighted to partner with a leading global organisation in hiring a Senior VAT Team Lead for their Cork office.
Seeking a proactive and experienced Senior VAT Team Lead to join the European VAT function. This role plays a key part in ensuring VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions and providing expert support to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Lead and manage the monthly VAT reporting calendar for a team of four, ensuring timely and accurate submission of VAT returns, Intrastat, and EC Sales listings.
 * Provide support and guidance to team members in the preparation of VAT filings, ensuring completeness and compliance with regulatory requirements.
 * Oversee month-end activities, including VAT account reconciliations, journal entries, cash flow management, forecasting, and monitoring of foreign exchange exposures.
 * Manage correspondence and ensure prompt responses to queries from VAT Authorities.
 * Maintain and strengthen the VAT control framework, supporting SOX compliance, internal audits, and external VAT inspections.
 * Contribute to VAT-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
 * Carry out additional ad-hoc duties as required.
Skills & Qualifications:
 * Minimum 3 years' experience in VAT or finance roles, ideally in a multinational or shared services environment.
 * Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
 * Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
 * Proficiency with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
 * Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
 * Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
 * Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools.
 * Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.
 * Desirable: Experience in Customs or Trade Compliance.
 * Desirable: Prior team management or leadership experience.
 * Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset.
