About the roleThis newly designed role will be pivotal to PLI’s successful adoption of the Braze platform and mark a shift in how The National Lottery engages with its customers.The CRM Technical Specialist will act as the platform’s technical lead to ensure that:Data is structured, reliable and actionableCampaigns & canvases are designed optimally and compliantlyThe platform is monitored for performance & reliabilityYou will collaborate across BI, Digital Product & external partners and act as the strategic enabler for Braze.This is a hybrid position based in our office Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday each week.What you will doDesign, build, and optimise complex multi-channel campaigns and customer journeys using real-time triggersDevelop and enhance customer segmentation to enable more targeted, personalised communicationsOwn and evolve the Braze technical roadmap in collaboration with BI and Digital teamsLead integrations, data pipelines, and SDK optimisation to ensure scalable and compliant platform usageConfigure data layers, tagging, and analytics tracking across web and mobile platformsSupport A/B testing, QA processes, and performance troubleshooting, including vendor escalationsCreate and implement testing frameworks for campaigns, events, and customer data attributesMonitor platform health and build dashboards to track performance and reliabilityContribute to backend architecture discussions and long-term CRM technical strategyWhat we are looking forTechnical expertiseBraze Certified Marketer or Braze Certified Practitioner (preferred).Experience in CRM, marketing technology, data engineering, or software developmentDeep functional and technical expertise in Braze, including Canvas, APIs, SDKs, Liquid templating, dynamic personalization, and multi‑channel messaging.Advanced experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, OAuth, middleware, and microservices.Knowledge of data engineering practices: SQL, event streams, warehousing (databricks).Experience & QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent.3+ years in Martech / CRMBraze Technical Accreditations preferred.Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem‑solving mindset, able to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.Organised, detail‑oriented, and focused on process excellence and quality delivery.Effective communicator with stakeholder management experience.Experience in scripting for automation.Why you will love working hereWork‑life balance: Hybrid working model for applicable roles, Full range of leave entitlements, Career Breaks and SecondmentsPhysical Wellbeing: Discounted gym membership, Eyesite tests, Flu Vaccinations, Paid sick benefit, wellbeing initiativesFinancial Wellbeing: Competitive salary, Defined contribution pension, Income protection 1:1 financial advice.Learning & Development: We promote a culture where you can continuously develop on a personal and professional basis.
