Who We Are
The HSE South West health region is divided into three healthcare areas (HSE Cork North and East, HSE Kerry, HSE Cork South and West) and will manage and deliver all public health and social care services in Cork and Kerry. The region serves more than 700,000 people and includes hospital groups and community health organisations such as the South / South West Hospital Group and Cork Kerry Community Healthcare. UHK is part of the Maternity Services within the South West region, hosting Maternity, Neonatology and Gynaecology services on the campus of University Hospital Kerry. UHK provides obstetric, gynaecology, paediatric and neonatal services and has a tertiary referral link with Cork University Maternity Hospital. UHK conducts approximately 1,200 births per annum and is a teaching site in partnership with University College Cork and University of Limerick. Maternity Services at UHK incorporate MN-CMS (Maternal Newborn Clinical Management System) in care delivery. There are four Maternity Units in the South/South West Hospital Group, spanning four large counties, including UHK, with Neonatology, Gynaecology, Midwifery and Obsterics included.
Group partners include University Hospital Kerry and the Cork University Maternity Hospital; education and research activities are conducted across the Group with a Primary Academic partner at University College Cork.
Purpose of the Post
Purpose of The Post — The post of CNM/CMM2 (NNU) has a pivotal role in service planning, coordinating, and managing activity and resources within the clinical area. The main responsibilities are quality assurance, resource management, staffing and staff development, practice development, facilitating communication and professional/clinical leadership.
Responsibilities
* Quality assurance and clinical governance within the Neonatal Unit.
* Resource management and staffing planning to ensure service delivery.
* Staff development, supervision, and performance management.
* Practice development and implementation of evidence-based care.
* Facilitating communication and providing professional/clinical leadership within the multidisciplinary team.
