Junior Quantity Surveyor Job Description

As a Junior Quantity Surveyor/Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting the commercial team with accurate cost management and have opportunities to be involved in the sales function.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Review tender enquiries and analyze tenders for potential risks and opportunities, ensuring timely delivery and excellent client relationships.
* Consult with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on pricing and contracts, taking into account industry standards and regulations.
* Prepare and submit Pricing Proposals in conjunction with the Head of Sales, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and company policies.
* Contract Administration - Execute Sub-Contract and Collateral Warranty agreements, monitor compliance, manage variations, and ensure a safe and productive work environment.
* Risk Management – Identify and assess financial and contractual risks, providing recommendations to mitigate or avoid them, highlighting key findings and areas for improvement.
* Conduct project cost analysis and prepare reports for senior management, using detailed records of estimating records and customer interactions.
* Liaise with Suppliers on product and pricing updates, negotiating best deals for our clients while maintaining accurate records.
* Final Account preparations, ensuring all costs are accurately accounted for, resulting in timely settlement and compliance with all relevant standards.
* Requirements:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field, with strong analytical thinking skills.
* Minimum 1 year of experience in the construction sector, with a strong understanding of industry standards and regulations.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.
* Proficiency in CRM (Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and AutoCAD or similar, with experience maintaining detailed records of estimating records and customer interactions.
* Able to work independently and under pressure, with a strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills, and hold a full clean driver's license.
