Buyer/ Planner – Limerick with Hybrid model

Our client is a very well established supply chain management working with brand name technology manufacturers & customers. They are seeking a skilled Buyer/Planner to manage procurement and inventory planning across multiple locations. This role involves sourcing materials, monitoring inventory levels, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely deliveries to support business operations. Salary: €40K - €50K plus benefits. Great hybrid model.

The Role:

1. Responsible for the effective coordination of the material planning, purchasing and production scheduling function and ensuring timely delivery to multiple customer locations.
2. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with existing and new suppliers, scheduling reviews where appropriate.
3. Work with relevant procurement personnel and/or suppliers to expedite shortages and urgent shipments.
4. Communicate regularly with suppliers and provide regular updates to internal and external customers, including visits to customer locations.
5. Work to reduce/eliminate any potential excess and obsolete materials.
6. Review impact of ECNs and/or deviations to current supply.
7. Develop and implement a cost reduction program.
8. Work with Engineering to onboard new cost-effective solutions as part of our innovation programmes.
9. Ensure that control, recording systems and procedures fully meet our customers’ requirements.
10. Ensure timely escalation and elimination of roadblocks.
11. Responsible for NPI management and new vendor set-up.
12. Ensure all SAP master data, including pricing, is kept up to date and present regular reports displaying same.
13. Support the accounts team to ensure timely invoicing and assist with any invoice queries.

The Candidate:

1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
2. Proficient in the use of SAP with experience of MRP & proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
3. APICS/IIPMM or equivalent.
4. Vendor management expertise.
5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with different functions within the organisation.
6. Team player with the ability to work well in a busy environment.
7. Able to work under their own initiative and make sound commercial decisions.
