Trim Community Childcare are seeking an Afterschool Assistant who will assist in developing, managing and evaluating an afterschool program for 45 Children that supports and enhances the children’s development, social-emotional learning and academics.

Location: Trim Community Childcare CLG/ Coiscéimeanna, The Maudlins, Trim, Co. Meath
Reporting to: Trim Childcare Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager of Trim Community Childcare, the Afterschool Assistant will be responsible for assisting with program management, and will work directly with the afterschool staff and children. The Afterschool Assistant will:
* Develop an engaging afterschool programme that will be creative and innovative for children
* Develop activities appropriate to child’s age and development
* Ensure implementation of high-quality programs that are responsive to children and families
* Provide reports where necessary.
* Foster self-esteem, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
* Create an atmosphere of safety, belonging and positive development for each child
* Be self-motivating and enthusiastic in carrying out the duties
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
* Candidates should hold a qualification in Youth and Community Work or experience in a similar area.
* Valid First Aid Certificate.
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in youth work/childcare.
* Excellent knowledge and experience of working to the Childcare Regulations essential.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
