Senior Pharmacist Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Pharmacist to join our team at UPMC Whitfield Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the delivery of a clinical pharmacy service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of pharmacists and technicians to ensure the efficient operation of the dispensary and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
* Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practice standards.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of pharmacy services and promote a culture of safety and quality.
* Provide expert advice and education to healthcare professionals on medication management and use.
* Contribute to the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for pharmacy services.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to ensure continuous improvement of pharmacy services.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland or eligibility for registration.
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital setting.
* Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including experience of change management and quality improvement initiatives.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing pharmacy practice.
