Job Title: Senior AVEVA PI Engineer
This senior role involves overseeing the implementation and optimization of OSIsoft PI systems. The successful candidate will be an expert in designing, implementing, and maintaining large-scale systems with high availability collectives and federated designs.
Key responsibilities include installing, configuring, validating, and tuning PI Server and interfaces; implementing analytic solutions with PI Asset Framework Analytics, PI ACE, PI Notifications and Performance Equations; and installing and tailoring client software including Coresight, ProcessBook, DataLink, Rtreports and PI WebParts.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of OSI PI system architecture and at least 5 years of experience in PI System implementations. Additionally, they should have excellent knowledge of SCADA, PLC, OPC, Continuous/Batch Historians, MES systems and DCS Based control systems including network topology concepts.
A strong background in software engineering, systems analysis and software development within the pharmaceutical industry is required. The candidate should also possess highly motivated, innovative thinking, and self-starting skills with excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities will include working with PLC and DCS-based control systems, building management systems, and/or energy management systems. The candidate will need to design and implement highly reliable and large-scale systems, install and configure PI Server and interfaces, implement analytic solutions, and install client software.
The successful candidate will be expected to work independently with minimal supervision and be able to develop and design PI Systems and GxP Documentation without assistance.
An undergraduate degree in IT, Automation, Science or Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience is essential. OSIsoft PI Historian training and certification are also required.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills and methodical approaches to solving difficult problems. They should also have superb communication skills and be able to provide clear instructions for installation configuration and troubleshooting of interfaces in line with standards and OSI recommendations.
As part of the team, the candidate will be responsible for mentoring, training and supporting System Analysts and Software Consultants. They will also be involved in drafting validation documents, providing resourcing estimates and technical configurations of client quotations to the Business Development Team.
