Your Role: Working with the Head of Digital Enablement, the Senior Manager, Mobile Engineering will align to the bank's Digital Transformation and Modernisation agenda by collaboratively creating high performance culture of engineering excellence across the bank's mobile banking products. As the Senior Manager, Mobile Engineering you will be the leading authority on mobile technology within PTSB. This role is crucial in defining and implementing the mobile engineering strategy to deliver innovative, secure, and user-friendly mobile banking solutions. You will be at the forefront of designing and developing mobile applications that enhance customer engagement and drive digital banking forward, leveraging the latest in mobile technology, best practices, and customer experience design. Your Team: Reporting to the Head of of Digital Enablement and as a senior member of the Technology Group, you will play a key role in delivering the key objectives of Group Technology, influencing at senior levels and actively contributing to the management, development and delivery of the overall Technology function. This is a new role, and as such, working with the Head of Digital Enablement, you will need to develop your team at pace with the needs of the organization. Your Responsibilities: Functional Strategy & Delivery Lead the design, development, and delivery of cutting-edge mobile banking applications, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and provide an exceptional user experience. Establish and advocate for best practices in mobile development, including Agile methodologies, code quality, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and automated testing Risk Management & Control Has a clear understanding of their role as part of the first line of defense against Operational Risk and ensures the Digital Innovation functional activities meet all regulatory requirements, all internal policies and procedures and PTSB's appetite for risk. Manages the Digital Engineering team in terms of the identification of risk and the design and implementation of effective governance and robust control systems to minimise risk. Lead an inspiring Culture Provide leadership with relentless focus on expectations of `What? and `How' of performance which contributes to the delivery of the bank's overarching objectives and strategy. Build a high performance team through coaching, mentoring, tackling underperformance and creating an inclusive culture. Stakeholder Engagement Work with other senior technology and business leaders to create a world-class digital delivery capability delivering exception customer experiences and business growth Requirements: Essential Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field. Extensive experience in mobile application development, with a proven track record of delivering successful, high-quality mobile applications on both iOS and Android platforms. Deep expertise in mobile development languages (e.g., Swift, Kotlin, Java) and frameworks (e.g., React Native, Flutter). Deep experience in developing exceptional customer experiences through mobile channels. Strong knowledge of mobile app architecture, design patterns, and standard methodologies. Experience with mobile app security best practices, including secure coding, encryption, and data protection. Proficiency in Agile development methodologies and tools for version control, CI/CD, and automated testing. Experienced in rapid exploration and incubation methodologies including test & learn approaches and rapid piloting.
