We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) with a background in renal and ambulatory care to support a specialist haemodialysis service within a well-established healthcare provider based in Galway. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and qualified nurse to play a pivotal role in specialist renal services, with a strong focus on haemodialysis care, transplant coordination, nurse-led prescribing, and chronic disease management. Key Responsibilities Clinical Focus Oversee monthly bloods, interpretation, and treatment plans related to anaemia and renal mineral bone disease (RMBD) management. Manage the Hepatitis B vaccination programme, including prescribing, titre monitoring, and booster schedules. Lead transplant work-ups and post-transplant follow-ups. Provide clinical leadership in haemodialysis care planning, assessment, and implementation. Deliver patient education, support, and advocacy in haemodialysis care. Attend multidisciplinary transplant meetings and collaborate closely with the wider clinical team. Promote and participate in infection control and health promotion practices within the renal population. Professional & Service Development Act as a clinical resource and leader within the unit. Maintain awareness of and adherence to current healthcare legislation and best practices. Provide specialist advice and contribute to service improvements and policy development. Engage in autonomous clinical decision-making under established collaborative practice agreements. Audit, Research & Education Compile and analyse monthly and annual audit data for the Ambulatory Care Service. Evaluate outcomes of nursing interventions through structured audits. Contribute to the development of evidence-based practice and continuous service improvement. Requirements Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI). Postgraduate Diploma in Renal Nursing (essential). Demonstrated experience in haemodialysis, chronic disease management, and patient education. Eligibility to work in Ireland. Excellent clinical assessment, planning, and organisational skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. IT proficiency and administrative ability to manage data and audit documentation.
