St. Joseph's school is seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Bus Escort.The Role:Escorts accompany pupils on taxi/bus transport from their home to and from school.The escort is responsible for the safety of the child on board the bus/taxi and will be required to provide pupil care needs including but not limited to assisting the child getting on and off the bus, securing appropriate seat belts etcAvailability in mornings for school start and in end times is essential for all school daysAvailable during school calendar December 2025 – Weds 24th June 2026Duties & responsibilities:Supervision and safety of students travelling on the busMaintain a good working relationship with the driver of the busAct as a liaison between Principal and/or Class Teacher and parents when requiredObserve confidentiality in all aspects of workBe aware of particular disabilities of students on the bus and be briefed by the Trainer on how to deal with it i.e. epilepsy etc.Requirements:Availability around school start and end times is essential from 29th August 2025 to 24th June 2026 except for school holidaysAbility to meet the bus at designated locationAbility to build trusting and respectful relationshipsEnjoy working on your own with people with an intellectual disabilitySome flexibility in working hours will be required from time to time to facilitate the needs of the service usersIf you would like to be considered for this position, please send a copy of your CV.Appointment is subject to Garda vetting and appropriate character references.To apply for this position please apply by letter submitting a copy of your CV and referencesJob Type: Part-timePay: €15.66 per hourExpected hours: 10 – 20 per weekWork Location: In person
