We are seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Director to lead a high-performing Bridge Design Team in Dublin or Cork. With a substantial portfolio of ongoing projects and a strong pipeline of new ventures, this role offers a unique pathway to career progression, with potential advancement to Technical Director for the right candidate.Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership: Oversee and guide a team of bridge engineers, fostering a productive and collaborative environment.Business Development: Manage and contribute to business development initiatives and tender bids for professional service contracts.Resource Planning: Conduct short- and long-term planning to ensure resource availability aligns with project demands.Design Supervision: Provide design expertise and oversee the technical delivery of bridge and structural engineering projects.Project Management: Lead medium to large-scale projects, managing quality, timelines, and budgets effectively.Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients and contractors, ensuring clear communication.Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers, supporting their technical growth and career development.PSDP Support: Support duties as Project Supervisor for the Design Process (PSDP).Essential Skills and Attributes:Demonstrated leadership and technical project oversight skills.Excellent client-facing and communication abilities.Proven experience in team and project management within multidisciplinary contexts.In-depth knowledge of bridge design, inspection, assessment, and refurbishment.Proficiency in Eurocodes and structural analysis tools (e.g., MIDAS Civil, LUSAS).Expertise in concrete, steel, and masonry structures.Qualifications and Experience:Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.15+ years as a Bridge Engineer, with at least 10 years on Irish projects.Chartered Bridge Engineer (CEng, MIStructE, or equivalent).This is an exceptional opportunity to advance your career within a leading engineering team.
