Account executive

Dublin
Positive Carbon
Account executive

Offer description

Roughly a third of all the food the world produces is thrown away, and after households, the kitchens that feed us in hotels, offices, hospitals and universities are among the biggest wasters of all.
A single commercial kitchen can bin tens of thousands of euro of food a year without ever seeing it on a balance sheet.
It is one of the largest, most solvable problems in climate today, and almost nobody can measure it.
Positive Carbon makes it measurable.
Founded in Dublin in ****, we build AI that sees what a kitchen throws away.
Our sensor sits above any bin and uses computer vision, the same technology found in self-driving cars, to automatically capture the weight, volume and type of every item discarded, with no manual logging by busy kitchen staff.
That turns an invisible operational habit into clear, real-time financial data: what is being wasted, what it costs, and where to stop it.
The results are real.
Kitchens using Positive Carbon have cut the value of the food they waste by up to 90%, lifting gross profit by 2–8% and returning several times what they spend with us.
We work with hospitality groups, universities and workplace caterers across Ireland, the UK and the DACH region.
We help catered organisations turn food waste from an invisible operational cost into a measurable, manageable food-cost line item.
Your job is to convert that into revenue.
This is not a demo-led, feature-selling role; you'll sell an economic case to a finance, procurement, workplace or operations buyer.
Tasks
Run discovery that starts with the economics: who pays for wasted food, who can act on the data, and how it scales.
Identify the economic owner in every opportunity, the party that owns the wasted-food cost and sell to them.
Build quantified food-cost business cases: waste value, avoidable opportunity, payback, rollout economics.
Design and run pilots that prove financial and operational value, then convert them into multi-site rollouts.
Work hand in hand with our Partnerships Manager to turn caterer-enabled access into closed business.
Keep clean CRM discipline (we run on Attio).
No food-cost owner, no forecast.
Requirements
Startup or founding experience (must-have): you've worked at an early-stage company or in a founding/first-hire role and you're at home with ambiguity, ownership and a blank page.
Solid B2B sales experience with a real close record.
Strong, structured discovery you ask who owns the cost before you pitch.
The ability to sell economic value across finance, procurement, workplace/facilities and operations.
Comfort building and presenting a business case, not just a product story.
CRM discipline and honest forecasting.
Nice to have
Experience selling into hospitality, foodservice, facilities or catering.
Channel or partner-led selling experience.
