Job Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced and motivated Hatchery Manager to lead the day‑to‑day operations of a modern hatchery facility in Co. Monaghan. This key leadership role is responsible for managing all hatchery activities from egg receiving through incubation, hatching and dispatch of day‑old ducklings to growing farms.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee end‑to‑end hatchery operations, including egg intake, incubation planning, hatching programmes and dispatch of day‑old ducklings.
Lead, develop and organise hatchery teams, setting daily workloads, driving performance and embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Monitor and optimise hatchery performance against KPIs, ensuring production targets, hatchability rates and quality standards are consistently achieved.
Ensure full compliance with biosecurity, animal welfare and company quality standards, while maintaining accurate records, reporting and performance analysis.
Manage equipment performance and maintenance planning, liaise with breeder farms and internal stakeholders and support cost control and operational improvement initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
Proven hatchery management experience within a commercial poultry, duck or breeder operation.
Strong understanding of incubation, hatching, egg handling and hatchery best practices.
Demonstrable experience leading and developing teams within a production or agricultural environment.
Strong operational planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage complex workflows.
Experience managing KPIs, production performance and implementing corrective actions.
Confident decision‑maker with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
Experience managing budgets and controlling operational costs is highly desirable.
Knowledge of biosecurity systems, quality standards and continuous improvement methodologies is advantageous.
Full clean driving licence.
Willingness to reside within a 20‑minute radius of the hatchery to support operational requirements.
Package
Salary €65,000 – €80,000 per annum (DOE).

Requirements
