This position is within the Cables Controllership team, supporting a portfolio including the expansion of Google’s submarine cable network. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with cable accounting regulations, collaborating with multiple teams and stakeholders, and enabling business growth in a dynamic environment.
Google’s finance team provides in-depth analysis on strategic decisions, develops forward-looking analyses, generates management reports, and scales automated financial processes, serving as trusted partners and advisors.
Responsibilities
* Manage annual statutory financial statements and tax compliance, including external audits and tax filings for Alphabet companies, primarily focused on submarine cables.
* Plan and oversee the year-end reporting process to meet broader controllership objectives.
* Perform financial analysis, ensure accuracy of books and records, prepare and review journal entries and reconciliations.
* Stay informed on fixed asset and lease accounting from IFRS and GAAP perspectives.
* Design and present periodic financial reports and insights to senior management, ensuring financial integrity.
