We are currently recruiting for a
Purchasing Officer
on a full-time permanent basis to join our growing business.
The role will be based in our head office in Waterford with flexible remote working options available.
Overall Role Objective
The Purchasing Officer is responsible for the coordination and management of all purchasing activities.
The main objective is to ensure effective purchasing and delivery of goods and services through the establishment and rationalisation of key supplier agreements, identification of new opportunities, and actively seeking and applying ways to improve efficiencies whilst ensuring legislative compliance.
Additionally, the purchasing officer will be responsible for tendering processes and administration of contracts in accordance with policies, procedures and specified contract requirements.
Responsibilities
Acquire/purchase goods and services for the company.
Maintain and update purchasing records/data and pricing in the system.
Prepare purchasing reports as necessary.
Prepare and process purchase orders and documents according to company policies and procedures.
Monitor and coordinate deliveries.
Source, select, and negotiate the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, deliveries, and services with suppliers.
Identify potential new suppliers where necessary.
Conduct complex bid process and perform commercial evaluations.
Ensure all purchasing documents are correctly maintained and filed accordingly.
Perform any other reasonable and relevant duties as requested by the Manager.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience working in a procurement department.
Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical products desirable.
Knowledge and understanding of purchasing/contracting procedures and principles.
Customer service skills, including a high level of communication skills, both verbal and written.
Experience in planning, organising, prioritising and coordinating work in a changing environment.
IT skills – Adobe Acrobat Pro DC, Excel and Word.
