Job DescriptionWhat you'll do:Supporting teams in process improvement initiatives to eliminate barriers to execution for accounting staff and internal customers, such as performing tests and verification of newly programmed reports or functions in the accounting or other related systemsEnsures the accuracy and completeness of the Yardi Job Cost (project accounting) subledger and general ledger, including preparation and posting of journal entries, and performing account reconciliationsWork with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with respective SOX controls put in place in the area of construction accountingCollaborate with statutory audit personnel to design and execute completion of testing related to areas of responsibility in efficient mannerSupports the Director of construction accounting in addressing issues to ensure expedient resolution to issues surrounding financial reportingAssist the Director in completing monthly and quarterly accounting close for the construction in progress section of the balance sheet, and all the respective reportsPartners with peers in finance, tax and joint venture accounting to provide data, reports and analyses that are essential for the execution of their tasks and responsibilitiesPrepare ad-hoc reporting requests submitted to the Construction Accounting departmentWhat You'll NeedTo be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:Knowledge of general accounting principles.Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data and perform quantitative analyses.Minimum 5 years' accounting experience with growing responsibilities (promotions, proven track record)Technical accounting experience, chartered/qualified/certified accountantAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills are requiredIndependent and eager to take ownership of an increasingly more visible function within a rapidly growing and evolving organizationNot afraid to roll up sleeves and help line managers and staffExperience processing adjusting journal entries, processing reclassification journals, preparing account reconciliations, and any other related tasks.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.Preferred skills, but not requiredProject or construction cost accounting experienceReal estate accounting experience preferred,Yardi experience preferredA Bit About UsDigital Realty brings companies and data together by delivering the full spectrum of data center, colocation and interconnection solutions.
