Company Overview
Kinnegar Brewing is one of Ireland's leading independent breweries. We make a range of high quality beers at our facility in Letterkenny, County Donegal. The brewery is a small but exciting and challenging enterprise in Ireland's flourishing food and drink economy.
Since our founding in 2013, our production has grown to over 1.4 million liters per year. To keep pace with that growth, we have continuously invested in the expansion of our plant and facility, in upgrading and automating our production processes.
We are now looking for a technically and mechanically skilled individual to join our maintenance team.
Location
Letterkenny is in north east Donegal, an area of unparalleled beauty and diversity in Ireland's north west. The landscape and environment in which our story has unfolded offers a superb lifestyle for those who enjoy the outdoors and appreciate the absence of traffic, crowds and the everyday stresses of urban existence.
The Job
The position covers three maintenance areas within the business:
1. Plant and Equipment Maintenance
2. Building and Estates Maintenance
3. Draught Dispense System Maintenance (Donegal only)
Your Responsibilities
1. Plant and Equipment Maintenance
You will provide our maintenance engineer with critical support in keeping all brewery systems operating smoothly and efficiently. This will include:
– Assisting with daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance schedules
– Assisting with ongoing repairs to mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems
– Assisting with the installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
2. Building and Estates Maintenance
With building and estates maintenance you will provide our maintenance engineer with critical support but also be capable of independently for carrying out small projects including:
– Small plumbing, electrical and carpentry projects
– Installing non-production related plant and equipment
– General building and estates upkeep and maintenance
3. Line Cleaning, Dispense Maintenance, and Event Set-up
You will clean and maintain all of our draught lines in Donegal following a step-by-step procedure. This includes:
– Line cleaning in each account on a 3-week cycle
– Installing new draught lines
– Responding to call outs or technical issues that may arise outside of regular cleaning cycles
– Maintaining all dispense equipment
– Setting up temporary bars and dispense systems for internal and external events
Skills and Attributes Required
The successful candidate for this position will be:
– Mechanically-minded with excellent basic plumbing, electrical, and building skills
– A good communicator with good people skills
– Methodical, orderly, and able to work safely and efficiently at all times
– An excellent problem solver
– Physically capable of handling the work involved
– Energetic, with the ambition to grow and develop a career with Kinnegar
Hours of Work
The brewery's schedule is dictated by the pace of brewing, fermentation and conditioning of the product and is therefore not entirely predictable. You will normally work within standard industrial hours but will be flexible enough to undertake work outside these hours at times when the maintenance timetable so dictates.
This is a full-time position. While we expect a certain level of flexibility in work schedules, in return we offer as much flexibility as is practical.
Experience
Previous trades and maintenance experience required. We will provide in-house training in draught beer dispense system maintenance. We will also provide training in other brewery production systems and engineering.
You will need a full, clean driver's license and must be comfortable driving small and mid-sized vans.
Salary
€28,000 to €35,000 per annum, determined by skill level and experience
