Exceptional Senior Marine Engineer required to join RINA's Energy capability in Ireland. Your role will be to review and evaluate the design and build of a new and complex jetty/pier, which will be the integral asset for a new downstream energy supply.
This role will be based in Cork, Ireland. 2 year Fixed Term Contract.
Responsibilities will include:
Lead the review of jetty/pier design;
Evaluate structural integrity of the design, including materials selection;
Identify and troubleshoot issues; make recommendations to enhance asset integrity and reliability;
Engage with third party stakeholders, including port authorities and local towage service providers;
Work with internal cross-functional teams, including Marine Engineers, consultants and PMO.
Report findings to the client, with support from the PMO.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Between 7-20 years' Structural Marine Engineering experience in settings such as jetties/piers, dockyards/shipyards or offshore platforms.
Experience of analysing structural maritime designs and evaluating their functionality;
Have a meticulous approach to design accuracy and thoroughness in evaluations and documentation;
Conduct safety assessments and conduct potential hazards; implement measures to mitigate risks;
Experience of working in complex matrix environments;
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; effectively communicate technical information to a broad range of stakeholders;
Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering.
Must live within commutable distance of Cork; we are unable to support with relocation costs;
Must be an Irish citizen, or have right to work in a permanent position. We are unable to sponsor a work visa for this position.
