Reports ToChair of the Clinical Governance CommitteeTerm: 3 years, renewablePurpose Of The RoleThe Clinical Governance Committee provides oversight and assurance regarding the quality, effectiveness and safety of clinical care across the organisation. As a voluntary sub-committee member, you will offer professional insight, independent judgment, and strategic guidance to support high standards of clinical governance, child and family centred practice, safety, and continuous improvement.The Clinical Governance Subcommittee advises the Board, Chief Executive Officer and or clinical, therapy and operational staff on issues relating to clinical risk management, clinical and therapeutic effectiveness, quality and safety of child and family-centred service delivery, continuous improvement of service and scope of practice for Sensational Kids CLG.Key ResponsibilitiesGovernance & OversightReview and monitor the organisation's clinical governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.Support systems which protect the wellbeing, rights and safety of children and families who encounter the service.Quality & SafetyEvaluate reports on clinical performance, safety incidents, and risk management activities.Support initiatives that enhance quality of care, strengthen child, family and community integrated practices and minimise clinical risk.Strategic InputProvide independent advice on clinical governance priorities, emerging issues and priorities for child and family focused services.Contribute to discussions on innovation and improved models of therapeutic service delivery.Advocate for strategies which prioritise children's developmental outcomes and successful participation.Stakeholder EngagementCollaborate with board members, therapists, clinicians, and management to foster a culture of evidence informed safety, transparency and continuous professional development in the best interests of the children and families served by Sensational Kids.Promote principles of communication and collaboration ensuring children and families are active partners in care where appropriate.Support communication processes which strengthen trust and accountability within the organisationEthics & IntegrityUphold confidentiality and act in the best interests of children, families and the organisation.Ensure decisions are guided by principals of safeguarding, dignity, equity and inclusivity.Skills & Experience RequiredBackground in healthcare, clinical practice, health policy, allied health care or quality improvement (preferred).Understanding of clinical governance principles and regulatory requirements.Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.Committed to child-centred, family centred, community embedded approaches to service delivery Capacity to commit time for meetings, preparation, and follow-up actions.CommitmentAttend scheduled quarterly online committee meetings (quarterly or as required).Review documentation and reports prior to meetings.Participate in occasional working groups or special projects.Benefits Of The RoleOpportunity to influence the quality, safety and developmental opportunities for children attending the service at a strategic level.Professional development and networking with clinical leaders and experts.Contribution to an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of children and their families.Involvement in strengthening the organisation's culture of excellence, compassion and continuous development.
