Engineering Supervisor – Food Manufacturing
Fully in charge of all engineering operations in the factory during shift. Drive safety, quality, delivery, productivity, compliance, regulatory requirements and cost improvements that add value to the site.
Responsibilities
Drive Lean /Continuous Improvement /Optimisation initiatives – using lean tools including A3 problem solving.
Liaise with internal stakeholders, external engineering personnel and third‑party service providers.
Support the Head of Engineering manager to deliver the asset management strategy including implementation and asset life‑cycle‑management of all process equipment.
Lead and improve the “day to day” and long‑term improvement of our CMMS system ensuring timely completion of engineering PMs scheduled work tasks, keeping on top of workload and backlog.
Support the people development plan on all equipment – by assisting the process engineers to develop training strategy for the engineering team members and support and deliver these development plans.
Achieve agreed engineering KPI’s, including increasing uptime, minimising downtime and other targets.
Ensure facilities are always fit for purpose.
Forward planning with Production to ensure the timely completion of preventive maintenance schedules.
Ensure spare parts are ordered and available when needed.
Input and contribute constructively, all known views, to the Head of Engineering, from a safety and wellbeing compliance perspective and all process, product and people flow on all investment related items and engage collaboratively cross‑functionally, on a smooth handover, of new processes into production.
Ensure committed savings are achieved in a timely manner and any obstacles in doing so are escalated.
Support the handover of all capital investment projects, and delivery of all savings associated with materials, labour, yield and productivity.
Optimise labour within the engineering team.
Qualifications
3‑5 years experience in the FMCG environment.
Experience in the Live Food Operations sector (desirable).
Recognised trade electrical / mechanical.
Degree or higher in relevant 3rd level engineering (desirable).
