Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with local health, safety, and welfare laws and HSA regulations.
Develop, communicate, and maintain safety and health plans; include emergency procedures.
Coordinate with contractors on safety measures, access control, and welfare facilities; promote cooperation.
Verify all workers hold valid Safety Awareness cards (e.g., Safe Pass, CSCS) and appoint Safety Representatives and Safety Advisors if needed.
Conduct safety inspections and audits; keep records; report incidents to HSA and notify them when project thresholds are met.
Oversee implementation of construction regulations and accident reporting within the assigned project area of the infrastructure project.
Monitor contractor compliance, implement corrective actions, and inform stakeholders and HSA of non-compliance.
Provide required safety documentation to relevant project parties.
Qualifications
Minimum 15 years' experience in Health and Safety and at least 7 years specialism across major infrastructure and engineering projects particularly in the rail industry.
Strong and demonstrable leadership and management experience in health and safety.
Safety and Health Qualifications, e.g.
through a Bachelor's degree or Diploma within the field.
Holding a Safe Pass / CSCS Card (or equivalent).
Participated in Managing Safety Training Course in Construction IOSH.
Member of Institution of Occupational Safety & Health or other relevant bodies.
Able to identify Health & Safety performance indicators.
Excellent written communications and interpersonal skills.
Strong influencing and leadership skills.
Team player, self-motivated and able to work using his/her own initiative.
Ability to manage difficult and competing stakeholders' interests.
Excellent organisational skills with a positive, can‑do flexible work attitude.
Ability to work to strict deadlines and handle conflicting priorities.
