Job Description
Project Engineer working in our Water & Process Engineering division on the delivery of turnkey water and wastewater projects for municipal clients in Ireland and the UK. Successful candidates will primarily be based at our office in Cookstown, Dublin with a regular Requirement to visit sites, clients, and supply chain partners in both Ireland and the UK.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Project Manager the successful candidate will take full responsibility for delegated tasks and duties on all stages of project delivery from early design through to construction, commissioning and final handover.
Ensure thorough knowledge and understanding of project deliverables and contractual requirements.
Manage the development of detailed designs and preparation of design submissions to the client.
Liaise with and coordinate works with internal engineering functions (process, mechanical, electrical, control and automation) as well as external designers and supply chain partners throughout the design development process.
Take responsibility for management, monitoring and reporting on project delivery within defined budget and programme requirements.
Assist the Project Manager in the management, monitoring and reporting on project delivery and management of project risks and opportunities.
Preparation of project documentation including execution plans, method statements and risk assessments for construction and commissioning activities.
Implementation of company SHESQ procedures and promotion of a positive safety culture in the workplace.
Maintain understanding of all company policies and procedures and participate in external audits for ISO accreditation.
Minimum of 2 years' relevant post graduate experience preferably working within a design and build contracting environment in the water/wastewater industry.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Attention to detail with strong technical and problem solving skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build working relationships.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on own initiative, to prioritise and plan workload efficiently, and to operate effectively under pressure.
Strong IT skills are essential including competence in all Microsoft Office software.
Full clean driving licence.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering is a pre-requisite.
Post-graduate qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g. water and wastewater treatment, project management, etc.) would be an advantage.
