Buskers Bar – Temple Bar Hotel Dublin
Temple Bar Hotel Dublin is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Bar Manager to join the team at our iconic Buskers Bar, located in the heart of the city. This role reports directly to the Bar Manager and plays a key role in the day-to-day management of bar operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and high service standards.
Role Overview
As Assistant Bar Manager, you will support the Bar Manager in delivering outstanding service, leading and motivating the bar team, and ensuring all operational, health & safety, and brand standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
• Support the Bar Manager in the smooth daily operation of Buskers Bar
• Ensure full compliance with all Health & Safety, Fire, Hygiene, and safe working practices at all times
• Deliver and maintain excellent service standards, consistently exceeding guest expectations
• Anticipate guest needs and ensure a high level of service, care, and attention
• Drive sales performance through effective upselling and promotion of products
• Lead, support, and motivate the bar team during service
• Take responsibility for all bar and lounge areas, reporting any issues promptly to the Bar Manager
• Monitor and control bar wastage, ensuring accurate recording and stock control
• Ensure correct disposal of bottles and waste, and that the bar is cleaned, restocked, and stock rotated at the end of each day
• Ensure all cash handling, floats, tills, and stock procedures are followed in line with hotel policies
• Maintain an in-depth knowledge of bar products, including cocktails, beers, and wines, and share this knowledge with the team
• Assist with training, onboarding, and development of team members
• Attend training sessions, appraisals, and performance review meetings as required
• Promote teamwork, flexibility, and a positive working environment at all times
The Ideal Candidate
• Previous experience in a bar or hospitality environment, ideally in a supervisory or senior bartender role
• Strong knowledge of beverages, including cocktails, beers, and wines
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• A team-focused attitude with a passion for delivering outstanding guest experiences
• Strong organisational and leadership skills
