Our purpose in the Supplier Quality Department is to partner with Medtronic's suppliers to deliver the highest quality and most reliable products to our customers.
The Supplier Quality Engineer II works with a Supplier Quality team to liaise with external suppliers and work in a cross-functional Medtronic team daily to resolve supplier-related issues, drive continuous improvement, and drive key quality metrics across Campus Ireland.
They will liaise with our extensive network of suppliers to execute on quality issue resolution, improvements, cost savings, and implementing supplier and Medtronic-driven changes.
This role supports post-market quality for components supplied to Ireland.
Responsibilities
Ensure that suppliers deliver quality parts, materials, and services.
Drive supplier improvement/Corrective Action through activities described in the job posting.
Work with the supply base to drive corrective/preventative action based on feedback from incoming inspection, quality metrics, and customer complaints.
Coordinate and monitor change control processes to ensure performance, compliance and regulatory requirements are met and properly documented.
Review/prepare test plans and reports (qualification, validation) for change and improvement activities (supplier certifications, material/sub-supplier changes and supplier-performed special processes).
Build a collaborative relationship with suppliers to quickly address non-conformances.
Represent the Supplier Quality group in operating meetings with status updates on the supplier base.
Support supplier visits or audits as required.
Provide statistical support by creating supplier-related metrics for tracking vendor performance and identifying opportunities for improvements.
Key Skills & Experience
Qualified to a minimum Level 8 degree in Science, Engineering, or relevant discipline.
2+ years Engineering and/or Quality experience in the medical device industry or related field.
Dynamic team player with ability to work effectively on cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills are desirable.
Good communicator with fluent English, both verbal and written.
