Ergo is seeking an IT Security Specialist for an exciting opportunity with a well-known client in Galway. The IT Security Specialist will fulfil the role of a hands-on Engineer with overall responsibility for Security risk assessments and the management / mitigation of network, cloud, server and information environments.
Experience in IT Auditing, vulnerability assessments and gap analysis as per ISO27001 and NIS2 are also preferred.
This is a permanent role requiring one or two days per week onsite.
What will you do?
* Implement and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures (ISO27001, NIS2).
* Conduct regular system audits, risk assessments, and vulnerability testing.
* Collaborate with all departments to promote best security practices.
* Monitor, analyse, and respond to security alerts and incidents.
* Ensure network security is in line with market standards using firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint protection platform, and encryption tools.
* Oversee the management of the system backups and DR procedures.
* Detecting, analysing, and responding to security breaches.
* Log analysis and digital forensics
You should have experience in the following:
* Network and endpoint security, identity management, and compliance standards.
* SIEM tools and incident response workflows.
* Network Security, Firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, Endpoint protection, DLP, Vulnerability scanners, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Active Directory, LDAP, Role-based access control (RBAC), MFA.
* Cloud Security and Azure & AWS security best practices.
One or more of the following certifications is desirable:
* Bachelor's Degree
* Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
* Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH).
* CompTIA Security+.
* GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC).
