The Role
A strategic results‑driven Group Head of Procurement responsible for driving procurement excellence, streamlining supplier networks and delivering sustainable cost efficiencies for all indirect goods and services across the organisation. This role will lead supplier performance initiatives and cross‑functional cost rationalisation programs to support the organisation's financial and operational goals.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Procurement Leadership
Develop and execute procurement strategies for indirect categories aligned with business objectives.
Lead cross‑functional initiatives to identify and implement cost rationalisation opportunities.
Conduct market research, RFPs, and supplier evaluations to support decision‑making.
Supplier Consolidation & Management
Analyse supplier base across divisions to identify consolidation opportunities.
Negotiate and establish framework agreements with preferred suppliers.
Drive supplier performance management and continuous improvement programs.
Cost Optimisation
Conduct spend analysis and benchmarking to uncover cost‑saving opportunities.
Implement strategic sourcing methodologies to reduce total cost of ownership.
Collaborate with finance and operations to track and report savings.
Risk & Compliance
Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies and external regulations.
Mitigate supply chain risks through robust supplier selection and diversification strategies.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with business units to align sourcing strategies with operational needs.
Communicate procurement goals and progress to senior leadership.
Contract Negotiation & Cost Optimisation
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to maximise value and minimise risk.
Drive cost savings through competitive bidding, volume discounts, and supplier consolidation.
QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
Minimum 7‑10 years of procurement experience, with proven success in cost reduction and supplier consolidation.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills.
Experience working in a global, matrixed organisation.
Proficiency in procurement tools and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills across all levels of the organisation.
